Daily Affirmations for February

Graphic with text that reads, "Daily Positive Affirmations. Daily affirmations to change your mindset."
Using affirmations is a great tool in creating a positive mindset.

Using daily affirmations is a great way to help create a more positive mindset.

Our minds tend to automatically have a negative bias, so it takes saying positive things to ourselves repeatedly to counteract this effect. Affirmations are a great way to rewire our brains for happiness, because the more you say something, the more likely you are to believe that it is true.

According to the National Institute of Health, "Self-affirmation theory posits that people are motivated to maintain a positive self-view and that threats to perceived self-competence are met with resistance. When threatened, self-affirmations can restore self-competence by allowing individuals to reflect on sources of self-worth, such as core values."

Focusing on our priorities and values, and creating affirmations that align with these values is a great way to stay focused on positive instead of negative things. Each day, you can write affirmations that can align with all of your priorities and values, then repeat them several times throughout the day.

Starting the day with affirmations is one way that you can start your day with a happy and positive mindset.

Here are all of my affirmation posts from February, so that you have many examples of positive affirmations. Each day, I choose one affirmation and reflect on how this can help my life. You can do something similar each day as you journal and reflect.

If you love affirmations as much as I do, you can also get my Weekly Affirmations Calendar for your desk.
