Daily positive affirmations. I am ready to take on the day.
When we wake up in the morning, sometimes we are tired, and want nothing more than to go back to bed and pull the covers up.
Working on our mindset daily is important, so that we can help ourselves to feel ready to take on the day and whatever comes.
To get into a positive mindset, we can do things like affirmations, yoga, meditation or journaling n the morning so that we feel ready for the day. Any of these practices can help us get into a space where we feel like we can handle whatever comes next.
We may not always feel motivated in the mornings, and that's ok. We can be gentle with ourselves, and rely on the healthy habits that we have formed over time.
Daily positive affirmations. I choose forgiveness.
Sometimes, the people in our lives let us down for whatever reason. We can choose to hold onto that, or we can choose to forgive and move forward.
My therapist has taught me that there are two different types of forgiveness. One is for the other person, and one is for yourself. When you forgive for the other person, you are giving them a second chance to do better. Usually, this comes after a heartfelt apology.
The second type of forgiveness, when you forgive for yourself, is about letting go of the past. You forgive so that you aren't holding onto the situation any longer. This is a harder kind of forgiveness. It comes from a deeper form of empathy and understanding.
Just because you choose to forgive someone, that doesn't mean you have to allow them back into your heart or your life again. Forgiving people who aren't sorry for what they have done will just lead to heartbreak if you let them come back in your life, unless you enforce boundaries with them.
Remember, forgiveness is a choice. Some things, very bad things, may not deserve your forgiveness. That isn't what I am talking about today. Today, forgiveness is in my heart.
