Life Keeps Getting Better

Updated: Aug 28, 2023

When you focus on the good in life, then life gets better and better. You can choose where to focus your time, energy and effort. Are you choosing things that make you happy, and enrich your life experience? Or, are you just going through the motions of life, waiting for another day to be over?

The way you live your life depends on your mindset, and what you spend your time doing.

When you create a more positive mindset, and focus on the good in life, then you cultivate a grateful heart. The combination of a positive mindset and a grateful heart is a powerful one. This allows you to begin to treasure all the beautiful moments that life has to offer. It makes you more aware and more open.

As you learn to have a more focused mind, and to feed your mind with positivity, then you can truly transform your life.

There are many ways to create a positive mindset:

  • Saying affirmations

  • Practicing gratitude

  • Journaling

  • Mindfulness

  • Meditation

  • Yoga

  • Exercise

  • Practicing Law of Attraction

  • Lucky Girl Syndrome

  • Reading personal development and spirituality

  • Attending religious services

All of these are ways to infuse positivity into your day, and most of them can be done in just a few minutes from your own home. You don't need to buy a lot of expensive supplies, maybe just a few books, a journal or a yoga mat.

There are lots of tutorials online that you can use to begin a new practice to improve your mindset.

The easiest way to improve your life are through mindfulness and affirmations. Both can be done first thing in the morning, and only take a few minutes.

Affirmations

Affirmations are positive sayings that can help you counteract your mind's negative bias and input positivity into your mind instead.

Some of my favorite affirmations are:

  • I am the luckiest girl in the world.

  • Everything is always working out for me.

  • The universe spoils me with abundance.

  • I am creating my perfect life now.

  • I deserve to feel ease.

  • Life flows easily and effortlessly.

  • I treat myself with love and compassion always.

All of these affirmations are things you can say to yourself daily to get into a more positive mindset. You can say them to yourself looking in the mirror, write them out, or post them around your house to look at regularly.

In addition to premade affirmations, you can also make your own affirmations to counteract your limiting beliefs. Limiting beliefs are things that you believe badly about yourself like, "I am not worthy" or "I am so stupid."

When you find yourself thinking something negative about yourself, you can make up an affirmation that is the opposite, like "I am worthy of love and goodness" or "I am a smart person."

Then, you can say these to yourself throughout the day to help yourself get thinking more positively.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a type of spiritual meditation practice that helps you to focus on being present in the moment. Just sit down somewhere quiet for a few minutes, I find it helps to go outside.

Then take a deep breath in and a deep breath out. Now, focus on what is around you. What do you see? What do you hear? What do you smell? What do you feel?

You can see the trees or flowers around you, smell the beautiful scents of spring, hear tweeting birds, or feel the air on your face.

Be present with all of these sensations. Feel them. Experience them fully. That is what it means to be present.

During your mindful moments, you will likely have other thoughts come up. When they do, don't judge them as being good or bad. Just notice them and let them go. This is called non-judgement.

By practicing the two elements of mindfulness - being present and non-judgement - you can learn to still your mind and to be more present in the moment. This allows you to experience life more fully instead of constantly being caught up in your thoughts.

This can help you to be less stressed, anxious and depressed. You will learn to have a calm mind and calm thoughts, and it only takes minutes a day.

Any time you are feeling stressed, you can just take a deep breath and have a few mindful moments.

Change Your mind, change your life

As you begin engaging more and more with practices to change your mindset, it will help you have a more calm outlook on life. This will help you to feel happier throughout the day, and more balanced.

When you change your thoughts, you change your experience of reality. You start to notice things that you previously would have overlooked. This allows you to have a more expansive experience of life. You are paying more attention to the goodness that is all around you.

The more you see and appreciate all the goodness in your life, the more you have to be grateful for. The more grateful you are, the more your heart opens. This allows you to be more joyful in your experience of life.

I hope that you will try some of these positive mindset practices in your own life, and see all the benefits that they will provide for you.
