What would I do if I wasn't Afraid?

Updated: Aug 29, 2023

As children, we feel free to explore the world. We feel free to dance and to dream of growing up to be anything that we want to be. Children have this special innocence that allows them to believe in magic in all seasons.

Yet somehow, time strips away that confidence. It strips away the belief that anything is possible. Time teaches us to fear. It teaches us to stop trying to fly, because we should be afraid of falling.

What would you do if you weren't afraid?

That is the thing that you should be doing. The thing you dream of in your soul, but think isn't realistic. That is what can make your soul alive with fire, and with the dreams of childhood again.

You can come alive any time that you decide. You just have to be brave enough to move past your fear.

I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

When you are brave enough to do things in spite of your fear, that is when truly amazing things can begin to happen in your life. You can be brave enough to do anything that you want to do. You can be brave enough to realize your dreams. You just have to allow yourself to move past your fear,

According to Better Up there are 9 ways to become fearless:

  1. Acknowledge your fear

  2. Confront it

  3. Use positive self-talk

  4. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable

  5. Make being brave a habit.

  6. Practice mindfulness

  7. Find a mentor

  8. Embrace failure

  9. Don't aim for perfection

These are great tips because if we are positive and mindful, it allows us to expand our minds and be less fearful. Also, when we don't aim for perfection, we will be more able to cope with failure and to try again when something doesn't go right the first time.

The more we practice being brave, the more we are able to accomplish things in spite of our fear. We sit with our fear and we move past it. We don't have to be paralyzed or to give up.

Keep going, my lovelies, and make your dreams into a reality!
