The more we love ourselves, and love others, the more our hearts open to all of the experiences that life has to offer.
We take risks and chances for love. We do whatever we can to hang onto the people that we love and keep them near.
We give of ourselves and our hearts in every way that we know to be possible, and try to sustain the relationships with those that we love.
Yet sometimes, it feels like love isn't enough to sustain us, and we have to reach down for the deeper love that comes from compassion.
Sometimes we have to make sacrifices of ourselves for love, we do the best that we can with the hands that we are dealt.
Just because you have love in your life, doesn't mean that things are always going to be perfect. So we hang onto the good moments as best we can.
That is where gratitude plays a role. Gratitude allows us to open our hearts and find some good in every situation. That goodness can sustain us through even the darkest of times and help us to find hope again.
