Today's Tarot: King of Swords and Knight of Cups

Usually, when I do these daily tarot readings, I just pull one card. But today, I had two of them jump out at me while I was shuffling. That shows me that these two cards are meant to be interpreted together to give an important message.

The King of Swords represents a wise and impartial counselor. This card is a symbol of mental clarity, intellectual power, authority, and truth. Whatever the situation you are facing now, it is time to take decisive action, knowing that you are right in your course even if others may disagree.

Knight of Cups

When you receive the knight of cups in a tarot reading, this card represents creativity, romance, charm, imagination, and beauty. The Knight of Cups is the classic romantic of the tarot deck, and follows his heart and intuition in all that he does.

Likely, you are involved in a creative or romantic endeavor at the present time. You may be beginning an art, music or writing project or a new relationship. When you use your intuitive nature, you will find the right way to go with this new opportunity in your life.

You are focused now on making the dreams of your heart come true. Likely, you are someone with big dreams in life. Right now, you are in the process of making these dreams into a reality. Like a painter with a canvas, you have the ability to create anything that you can imagine.

This can apply to manifesting things into your life as well. You can use the creative power of your thoughts to create the reality that you dream of. You have a vision of love, compassion, peace and harmony that you want to spread to others. There is a deep sense of altruism about you, so when you create, you aren't doing so just for yourself, but for the benefit of others as well.

The Combination

Since this reading contains a card representing intellect and one representing intuition, likely you are trying to find a balance of both these pieces of yourself in your life. You are integrating left-brain and right-brain activities and creating synthesis within yourself and your life.

It is important to remember that both your intellect and intuition are important. Don't neglect one at the expense of the other. Both are needed now on your way forward.

You may be at a point in your life where you want to make your creative pursuits into a career. If this is so, you need your intuition and your creative abilities to build the things you dream of. Then, you need your intellect to perform the business tasks needed to make your dream into something marketable.

If there is one area that you are needing advice or guidance about, it is a good time to seek out council and a potential partnership. The King of Swords can also represent a wise counselor who is able to provide logical advice.

For those of us who are creative, it can be helpful to have the guidance of someone who is more grounded than we are ourselves. Both of these cards together represent taking inspired action. You have chosen your path forward, now is the time to make your dreams into a reality!
