It's like having your birthday early!

Do you like free money? What if someone told you that you could get free money for shopping online? To me that sounds like a dream come true!

Everyone likes to shop online, and it's even better when you can shop for free with gift cards! I love looking for any ways that I can find to save money, so that is how I stumbled across gift card sites.

There are a bunch of sites online where you can earn free gift cards and I have experimented with quite a few over the years. The way most of these work is that you sign up for an account (I have included my referral links below), then you usually take surveys, browse online, complete special offers, and watch sponsored videos to earn coins. When you get up to a certain amount of coins, you can redeem them for Gift Cards, usually in $5 increments.

Most of them also have different types of email sign-ups for various shops and coupons that allow you to earn coins quickly. The only issue I have found with this is that your inbox fills up pretty quickly too. When I first started, I used to sign up for every offer with my email and I would get 50-100 emails a day. So, I would recommend only signing up for email offers that you are actually interested so you don't have to spend hours clearing out your inbox!

All that being said, here are my top three Gift Card Sites:

#3 E-Rewards (Paid Surveys Online | e-Rewards currency)

This site lets you fill out online surveys, and you will earn points towards free gift cards. While there are a lot of similar sites, what I like about E-Rewards is that the surveys are typically easier and shorter than on other sites, and you are less likely to get disqualified. With some sites, you will waste a lot of time trying to qualify for surveys before you can find one to take. This stops you from earning as quickly.

You can earn gift cards from retailers like Amazon, or free magazine subscriptions. It is pretty straightforward to sign up.

#2 Microsoft Rewards (Microsoft Rewards)

If you use Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge as a browser, this one is for you! You can earn points every day for searching in your browser, up to a certain number of searches. There are also easy daily quizzes that you can take to test your knowledge about news articles and earn additional points.

I especially like using Microsoft Rewards, because it rewards you for web browsing which you would be doing anyway. I don't know about you, but I am constantly doing internet searches! May as well be earning for it!

After you get up to a certain amount of points, you can redeem for gift cards, or use the points to buy something from the Microsoft store. This can be good if you like gaming, since you can redeem points to buy XBox Live credits. There are also gift cards for Amazon, Starbucks, Dunkin and Doordash, among many others.

#1 Swagbucks (Swagbucks Sign-Up)

Swagbucks is my favorite gift card site because you can earn prizes more quickly and easily than on other sites, by doing things that you already do. Swagbucks has surveys, a daily poll, links to print grocery coupons, and a "shop" section that lets you earn cash back for your online shopping.

Here are some examples of the shops that are available on Swagbucks. As you can see, it has Amazon and Walmart, which I buy from a ton!

Of course, I really like the shop option because it has most of the stores I buy from already! Many times, you will get a coupon code to save money on your shopping too, so that is double the cash back for something you would have been buying anyway!

Your points accumulate the same way as on the other sites, and you can redeem them for gift cards when you get enough points. A great option to redeem on Swagbucks, in addition to Amazon cards, is Paypal credit. That way, you can not only spend the money online, but transfer to your bank account as well.

Other Gift Card Sites

Like I said earlier, there are a bunch of other websites that you can use to earn free gift cards online. Most feature some combination of watching videos, taking surveys, and filling out special offers.

I used Perk.tv for a while, but you have to watch really a lot of videos to be able to redeem for a gift card. There are other Perk app's that you can use to earn points toward the same account. It is pretty popular and the only complaint I have is slow earning.

I have also seen a lot of people have success with a shopping app called Ibotta, where you upload grocery receipts. However, there aren't any stores in my area that use it so it never worked for me.
