Maintaining healthy routines helps you to be able to stay healthy even when you don't feel motivated. This leads to longer and more lasting good health behaviors.
Every morning, I get up at the same time, do yoga, journal, and do my affirmations.
What kinds of healthy routines do you maintain? It can include self-care, exercise, drinking enough water, healthy eating, getting proper sleep, and more.
The way you start your morning sets a tone for the rest of the day. That is why starting with healthy habits is so important. You are doing something good for yourself right away when you wake up. That can help you think about doing healthy things for your body and mind all day.
An evening routine can also help you wind down for sleep. Personally, I don't have an extensive evening routine. I do go to bed at the same time every night, and before bed I listen to a meditation tape to get into a calm headspace.
There are other things you can do to wind down at the end of the day too. Anything that makes you feel relaxed, like having a cup of warm tea, a bath or shower, journaling, meditation, or just making sure you turn off your devices.
I hope that these tips help you, and that you are able to maintain a healthy routine today, and every day.
Our routines give us something to fall back on when we are having down days, because we are already used to doing things that are good for ourselves. Taking care of our health is more important the more stressed we are, since good health helps to mitigate stress.
